My Secret Garden

And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles.
– Frances Hodgson Burnett

There’s magic going on in my Secret Garden.

I began the garden in 2002 with a couple little bushes, a cedar fence, and an aging ash tree…

And the garden grew and grew… 🙂

Oldest son built a grape arbor, family and friends gave me gifts of flowering plants and trees. Now birds build their nests in the branches and visit the bird feeders, and bunnies hop around in there and let me sing to them. The Cecil Bruner climbing rose that has been in Mom’s family more than 50 years was transplanted to the garden as a scrawny shrub and has taken over one side of the garden, growing together with the grape vines and butterfly bush and climbing clematis to create a fragrant canopy…
